Over the many years I have been working as a spiritual adviser I have seen a lot of online readers come and go, I have also seen a lot of emotional and monetary damage done to people because of some very unscrupulous people calling themselves psychic readers. I know of many sites, which I shall not name, that do not even test the people they hire. How is that helping people when the person giving the reading may or may not even be psychic? That’s why here at readingsbyjody.com we test each and every single reader that comes on board with us. So you know no matter what expert you choose is at the top of their field and knows how to help no matter what the situation may be. Below you will find a couple of examples to show the kind of things to be on guard for when dealing with a psychic of your choosing.

Carrie books a reading with an expert on a site, and she explains no matter what she does, no relationship has every worked out for her. She wonders why? The psychic seems to  hit on her energy really well and Carrie is amazed at her readings. The psychic then tells her she shall make and bless a candle for Carrie to light as well as  a prayer to say as she lights the candle, sounds good right? Here’s the catch, The psychic then tells Carrie these are hand made candles and that she charges a fee for them. She sells each specially made candle for $200 and each one is blessed and guaranteed to bring love into her life. Now the truth: No psychic sells candles for any such thing, they will look into your energy and your situation and help you see where the problems lie and why Carrie has had so many problems finding the man she wishes to spend her life with. We help to guide and look, suggest certain  things that Carrie may need to change for herself. A real psychic reading no matter whether it is on the net or face to face is one set fee or donation, there are never any hidden charges or extras to pay for. As seen in the next example if more money is requested walk out. You can try and ask for your initial fee back, but the chances are you wont get it so just walk out and never return.

Scam #2-  Joy, her life is in complete shambles, financially, and emotionally so she has decided to consult with a psychic in her area to find out whats going on and how she can turn things around for herself. She goes in, sits down, meets the psychic and things seem to be going rather well. The psychic seems to have connected to her on a few levels and when it comes to the reasons Joy has consulted the psychic for, then it takes a different turn. The psychic tells Joy that in a past life her family had a curse put upon  them which explains her situation now, in order for her to turn things around the psychic has asked for more money to do a cleansing spell, she explains it is for supplies that is needed for the spell. Not knowing any different Joy agrees to do so and hands her the extra funds. The psychic informs her the spell shall be performed in a few days and will contact Joy when it has been competed. Joy leaves and waits for her call. A few days later the psychic calls her and explains the curse is a lot more complicated then she first anticipated and therefore she needs more money, joy starts to get suspicious but she agrees. This scenario keeps going and going until Joy is out over 3 grand. She then finally puts a stop to it and refuses to give her anymore money. Now since the psychic has Joys phone number now she calls her repeatedly and tells her if she does not do this her life will never be better and things will get much worse. Luckily for Joy she listens to her “gut” and hangs up never to deal with her again. This scam is one of the oldest in the book, and although many say they wouldn’t fall for it sadly many do. These so called psychics  pray on peoples fears and weaknesses, don’t fall for it. Once your asked for more money walk away, once the word “curse” is mentioned you know your being scammed, Leave immediately.

Now that you know what to look for, your task is MUCH easier. But it’s still important to be vigilant. Watch out for the following:

• If you want to have any kind of psychic reading, always ask the price before starting. It certainly shouldn’t cost an arm and a leg.
• If a fortune teller says you have a curse, need a lucky charm or should have special candles and/or prayers said for you, don’t just walk away — RUN!
• Delete ant spam emails from an alleged psychic.

If this one article saves one person heartache and money then it has done its job. Go in with an open mind but also be very careful of whats being told to you.

There are many psychics out there and knowing which one to choose or trust is the hardest part of getting a good reading. The first thing to do is chat with the reader you choose for a few minutes; if you have a bad feeling or you are not comfortable with that reader, then something is wrong. You should always feel at ease with the reader you choose. My main thing when working with a client is to make sure they are at ease, and I always try and make it like I am talking to an old friend. There are a few things that you can do to make sure you get the best reading possible and have a connection in your reading.

1- Be at Ease: When going to see a Psychic make sure you go in with a clear mind and that your energy and physical self are as calm as possible. The more nervous you are the harder it will be for your reader to make that connection to you. What it does and can do is throw a wall around you, a wall of protection that is very hard for the reader to get around. Know that any messages you will receive will be for your highest and your best, and that the psychic is there to help you on your path.

2- No expectations: Especially when going to see a medium, do not go in with the mind set you want to hear from one person and one person only. The spirits that will come forward are the ones you need to receive the messages from, and they come with all the love they have for you. By not wanting to speak to Aunt Sally, and wanting only messages from dad, you may miss some very important things she has to say, so be open and willing to any spirit and loved ones that have messages for you.

3- Testing the Psychic Reading; This is not only a very unpleasant situation for the psychic but for you as well. Wanting the psychic to prove to you they are authentic just throws the reader right off track. You unknowingly put up a barrier and expect that reader to get through it. Not only is it a waste of time and money but you will NOT get a good reading out of it in the end.

4- A clear Mind and Body- Do not go to see a psychic when your under the influence of alcohol or any substance, the reader works off your energy, when you go for a reading like this your energy is clouded and the reader can not read you. Most readers will ask you to come back at a later time when you are more clear and not under the influence. If your taking any sort of medication from your doctor you may want to inform your reader of this and they will try and work around it, most times they can and it will have no effect on your reading.

The basic message here is to go into a psychic reading to learn, to grow and experience what a gift can be given to you with the right psychic. By going in and playing games or trying to fool your expert is really a waste of time and energy on both parts. Also remember your psychic is human as well and can have good and bad days, we are not always going to pick up the validation you are looking for, which does not mean the psychic is not any good, it just means they may be having an off day or something happening around you at that time is blocking the energy exchange from happening.
